T123's, T069A's, T069D's & T109A's in Tofino this Week!
On Sunday we had a visit from the Bigg’s Killer Whales T069A’s, T069D’s and T123A. They travelled right through the Tofino Harbour, up Browning Passage and into Tofino Inlet. The T069 gang are regular visitors to Clayoquot Sound, in fact the last time we saw the T069D’s was on Thanksgiving evening in the Tofino Harbour. They were eating seals!
T123A otherwise known as Stanley is not a regular visit in our waters. He is a big bull born in 2000 with a notch on his dorsal fin. The group were travelling together and T123A spent most of his time with T069A2 (born 2006) a younger male who is really starting to sprout!
On Saturday we got word that there were Bigg’s Killer Whales in Fortune Channel. We headed out and came across T123A (again), T123, T123C and T123D with the T109A’s. They made a few kills and then headed towards the Bedwell.
We are excited to have had so many Bigg’s Killer Whale sightings so far in 2020!
