GUEST EXPERIENCE AGENT (two full-time positions) - Start March 2025
Job Summary
You are the face and the first point of contact for each of our guests. Your approach must be friendly, professional and informative. Whether in person or over the phone, you will guide each guest though their entire pre and post purchase experience. Duties include selling tours, opening/closing the office, checking in guests, taking reservations and working with the marine guides and management to assure smooth running tours and departures. The office staff’s focus is on selling our educational whale watching, bear watching, bird watching and hot springs tours. You must be well spoken, out going, enjoy people and working in a team environment.
Desired Skills
Demonstrate superb attention to detail, a commitment to quality and effective time management.
Posses excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal, with fluency in English.
Strong communication skills!
Follow up and complete all undertakings
Sales experience including operation of cash float and credit card machine.
Responsible, mature and loves the outdoors.
Basic knowledge of marine wildlife.
Available to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
Ability to speak other languages a bonus
Abilities
Physically fit and able to work on their feet

Must work effectively with others on a team

MARINE GUIDE/SKIPPER - Start March 2025
Job Summary
Onboard our top of the line of 12 person cabin cruiser boats and open Boston whaler vessels as a skipper, you are both a competent mariner and an entertainer with exceptional customer service skills. Guides are responsible for ensuring safe operation and navigational practices while also acting as an engaging tour guide to up to 12 passengers on board. It is expected that a skipper will introduce passengers to all the west coast has to offer during the tour.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Safe operation of the vessel including preparation before tour and shutdown and cleaning after tour
Completing necessary log books
Customer service
Interacting with passengers as a captain, but also as tour guide and marine naturalist
Minor vessel maintenance as required
Engaging in sustainable marine wildlife viewing practices in compliance with regulations imposed by: DFO & Transport Canada.
Required certifications and skills:
SVOP, MEDA3/MEDA2/DVSBS/DVS, ROC-M/ROC-MC, Marine Basic First Aid
Commercial operating experience (exceptions for extensive recreational experience)
Knowledge of safe boat handling in all weather conditions
Knowledge of natural hazards to geographical area of operation
Skills and attributes considered valuable assets:
Customer service interpersonal skills
Ability to work within a team
Knowledge of marine wildlife behaviors and patterns
Strong communication skills.
Season: March to November. Must be available weekends, evenings and holidays.
